Below is a summary of UAWD’s 2023 Annual Meeting on September 10.
Financial Secretary Eric Truss (Local 600) shared a financial report, and Trustees Martha Grevatt (Local 869) and Andrew Bergman (Local 5118) shared a Trustee Report. An UAW Big 3 contract campaign updated was presented by Organizing Committee co-chair Nolan Tabb (Local 281) and other members.
A resolution to amend our bylaws to allow UAWD committee members to elect committee co-chairs was passed. A resolution to amend our bylaws to call for special membership meetings during strikes and before tentative agreement votes was passed, with an amendment to poll members covered by the tentative agreement when calling such meetings.
Steering Committee elections were held. Nolan Tabb (Local 218) was re-elected Member at Large. Martha Grevatt (Local 869), formerly a Trustee, was elected Retiree. Andrew Bergman (Local 5118) was re-elected Trustee for a two-year term, and Nick Livick (Local 31) was elected to a one-year term as Trustee, replacing Martha.
