The sentencing of a former United Auto Workers official from Grand Island has been rescheduled to Nov. 18.

Jeffery Pietrzyk Sr. was due to be sentenced in federal court in Detroit last week, but the proceeding was delayed at the request of his attorney, Robert Singer.

Singer said the federal court in Michigan’s Eastern District is not allowing in-person proceedings, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and that he and his client were not comfortable with conducting the sentencing by Zoom.
