We’re fundraising to cover the cost of food and supplies for our 10,000 UAW siblings on strike at John Deere!
Background on the strike: After overwhelmingly rejecting a proposed contract, 10,000 UAW members at John Deere across the country, mostly in Iowa and Illinois, began striking at midnight on October 14. Following immense pressure from managers  to accept the deal, even after they’d already voted it down, workers are out on the picket line in force to demand an end to their two-tier pension system and better pay, amid historic John Deere profits of almost $6 billion dollars.
How we are using the funds: UAWD volunteers are working closely with workers across multiple John Deere locals to determine needs on the ground. To the greatest extent possible, spending decisions will be made by John Deere workers at their respective locals. We encourage John Deere workers, particularly picket captains and those involved with strike support logistics, to send us a message through this GoFundMe page so you can be involved in this decision-making process.

We plan on allocating the majority of the funds in proportion to the membership size of each John Deere local, according to this dynamic budget. All receipts and records will be made available upon request.

What we’re doing with any leftover funds: Any leftover funds in this GoFundMe account after the end of the strike will be set aside by UAWD exclusively for the purpose of supporting future UAW workers on strike.
