Despite the disruption the strike has caused, all students interviewed vocalized their support for the SWC-UAW. 

“It seems like the money we pay should be more than enough to pay [graduate students’] salaries,” Sebastian Mayor, GS ’22, said. “It seems like Columbia preaches one thing and then does another.”

“It’s kind of a joke,” student Gabe Weintraub said. “There seems to be a contradiction between what the University practices and what they preach, and my education is suffering right now as a result of that. I would hope that they would be able to figure their stuff out and make it so we can get back in the classroom.”
