LANSING — A local UAW chapter says Lansing will be acting illegally if it unilaterally implements planned health care changes that retired city workers expect will increase their health care costs.
The city anticipates saving $8 million annually by changing health care plans for more than 1,330 unionized and non-unionized retirees effective Jan. 1 to mirror those offered to active employees, Lansing’s Chief Restructuring Officer Judy Kehler said.
