MGM Grand Detroit laid off 1,561 employees Wednesday, in tandem with the nre closure order for Detroit’s casinos, according to a WARN notice filed with the state.
The company permanently cut 1,100 workers in Detroit in August as part of 18,000 layoffs nationwide by MGM Resorts International. MGM Grand Detroit had employed around 2,800 workers prior to the pandemic.
