This resolution was passed at the October 2024 Annual Membership Meeting via Zoom on October 13, 2024.
Resolution: Improving Membership Access to UAWD Financial Reports

Whereas:
- Article VIII, Section 1 of the UAWD Bylaws states, “A financial report shall be given semi-annually at the Annual National Meeting and at the UAWD Steering Committee meeting six months after the Annual National Meeting.”
- Article VIII states “The UAWD Steering Committee is accountable to UAWD members for all uses of UAWD finances.”
- Making it easier for UAWD members to access semi-annual financial reports builds trust within our membership.
- Being able to readily be up to date on the state of our financial resources allows for a more informed decision making body and enables our membership to maintain democratic control over our finances.
Be it resolved that:
- In addition to presentation at a Steering Committee meeting, the semi-annual financial report shall also be presented at UAWD’s summer and winter General Membership Meeting.
- Financial reports should include a break-out for all UAWD funds, including our 501(c)(5) and our 501(c)(3), also known as the UAWD Mutual Aid Fund.
- After each financial report is shared at a meeting, it shall be shared by the Steering Committee in the UAWD Slack with the following disclaimer:
- “This is a confidential UAWD financial report. The information contained in this report is appropriate for discussion with UAWD members and at UAWD meetings, but it should not be copied or shared elsewhere.”
- Access to the latest report shall also be given to any UAWD member upon request at any time. Such requests should be made to the Financial Secretary.
- When given access to the report, members shall be asked to commit to abide by the disclaimer above.
- This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
