Below is a summary of UAWD’s Membership Meeting on December 10, 2023.
Deneen Brewer (Local 7) was elected by acclamation as Member at Large as the only nominee to the Steering Committee. A resolution for UAWD to educate and organize for Palestinian liberation was also passed by the membership.
All members were encouraged to fill out the 2024 membership survey on priorities for the coming year. Members also discussed the successes and lessons learned from the 2023 contract campaign and Stand Up Strike. Announcements were shared about plans for an in-person UAWD convention in 2024, as well as the 2024 Labor Notes conference.
