The UAW is on heightened alert as cases of coronavirus escalate at two of General Motors’ key plants that local union leaders have already pressed the automaker to close for health reasons.
The plants are Arlington Assembly in Texas and Wentzville Assembly in Missouri. GM makes its mid-sized pickups and full-sized vans at Wentzville and builds its highly profitable redesigned full-sized SUVs at Arlington.
