Below is a summary of UAWD’s Quarterly Membership Meeting on December 11, 2023.
UAW Members United candidates—including candidate for UAW President Shawn Fain, UAW Secretary-Treasurer Elect Margaret Mock, Vice Presidents Elect Mike Booth and Rich Boyer, and Region 9A Director Elect Brandon Mancilla—thanked UAWD members for their support. Information about the upcoming runoff elections for President and Region 8 Director was shared.
Tamar Samir (Local 7902), Keith Brower Brown (Local 2865), and Marcques Derby (Local 807) shared updates from the picket line as their respective locals have been on strike. A resolution authored by Ron Lare (Local 600) to encourage strike preparation by UAWD passed unanimously.
As a reminder, a new Member at Large will be elected to the Steering Committee at our March Membership Meeting after the runoff elections.
