This resolution was passed at the 2024 March Membership Meeting.
Whereas:
UAWD committees/chapters and its members are the backbone of UAWD.
UAWD committees/chapters meet often to create educational materials, Research, Organizing, sharing information and simply engaging folks to be more active in fighting for Social and Economic Justice in the UAW.
UAWD needs to be more transparent all around and continue to hit the ground running.
UAWD committees/chapters have no reporting system in place other than if someone on the SC submits notes to the UAWD Google Drive.
All members and leaders in UAWD should know what’s going on in these committees/chapters.
Therefore, Be It Resolved:
That the UAWD Steering Committee Co-Chair
- Takes on the responsibility of overseeing UAWD committees’ and chapter/s activities.
- Helps set up meetings utilizing “UAWD Committees” Zoom Account.
- If needed, to assist in planning meetings.
- Plans and conducts Quarterly meetings with all Committee/Chapter Co-Chairs with the Steering Committee.
- Creates a reporting system that works for all committees/chapters to keep the UAWD Steering Committee and UAWD Membership up to date on committee activities.
Be it Further Resolved That this new responsibility for the SC Co-Chair and reporting system will be in place by June 2024.
Be It Finally Resolved that Any UAWD member can attend the quarterly meetings with Committee/Chapter Co-Chairs for observation only but with a short Q&A at the end of the meeting, if possible.
